World’s first solar road opens in France

The world seems to be evolving at an astronomical pace within the Last decade, the world’s first solar highway has been opened in France, in the not-very-sunny village of Tourouvre au Perche in Normandy. The roadway is just one kilometre (0.6 mile) long, but that still works out at 2,800 square metres of photovoltaic cells—enough, hopefully, to power the village’s street lights.The road was built by Colas, a large Anglo-French construction company.

The 2nd edition of the Calabar Bikers Parade held over the weekend was a fantastic display of Bikers with their various Bikes and Costumes.

The Event did not start as planned following a failure in the engine of the Cross River Governor, Senator Ben Ayade’s  bike , however the  former Governor Donald Duke stole the show with a Batman styled bike.

In this poem the commodity  appears to speak for itself, telling readers that even though at this point the situation appears bleak for Oil producing countries but with mutual co operation and conversations, the season of Oil boom would return.




THE ELUSIVE DARK LIQUID

This is the Second Poem in a three Part series on a narrative that tries to capture the different emotions of people affected by the Oil and Gas Industry in Nigeria.

This particular poem seeks to mimic the elder statesmen who were not novices in the trend of Oil Price circles, it attempts to assuage the younger citizens , taking them through a brief history of how they felt when Oil was discovered , dropping hints of wisdom that the Oil Crash would not be endless, sooner than we think Oil prices would bounce back.

This particular poem seeks to capture the despair of the Niger Delta indigenes who feel disenfranchised and improperly compensated by the Oil Companies and the Government on activities on their Land.
