TRICKS YOU PLAY

I glance at my wristwatch, bite my lips when i realize its 8.00 p.m
Shudders run through my body , anger rises from my insides.
i cant believe the Sun has set, this was not the plan.
in the am i had been armed with my to do list
Now look at me, upset aggrieved

Today was not supposed to end like this
i had so many things on my to do list
but you tricked me
again...

You have mastered the art, of leaving me in an arc.
how will i escape from your foothold,
if you wont let me take a step out of your threshold.
grip tight disguised in a neck tie
pinned down in this never ending town

Today was not supposed to end like this
i had so many things on my to do list
but you tricked me
again...

Drowning in a sea of regret
i long to find me, to fill myself
with the unending waters of my creativity.
But like the trickster you are, everyday you overwhelm me.
until my strength weakens and once again i cant find me.
Today was supposed to be different
I had the blueprint to my freedom.
ideas coursed through my veins ready to fly me away.

Today was not supposed to end like this
i had so many things on my to do list
but you tricked me
again...

So here we go again.
The bills have floated without bargain.
just like you expect i have nowhere to turn to but you again.
As i am tied to you my 9 to 5.
Oh what tricks you play
once again i am stuck with you by end of day.
